Neat patterns for Men's Ritual Wear

So I got a neat email from a guy-friend who needs me to help come up with some ritual wear. I've had fun with this this morning, a new excuse to cruise the pattern sites (been doing a lot of that this week!). I checked out some stuff that would be more typical ritual robe style things and then some things that would be a little more casual. Men folk can be difficult to sew for. Let's just leave it at that. But the person I am sewing (or designing) for is pretty openminded. So here's what I found:

http://www.kwiksew.com/Catalog/cat_detail.cfm?pid=3250 Love the hoodie and the long sleeve shirt - and either one could be lengthened to tunic length or even robe length with very little effort :)

http://www.kwiksew.com/Catalog/cat_detail.cfm?pid=3070 These pants would go nicely with the shirt above and the pattern looks absurdly easy!

Then I hit the costume section of the Simplicity site - my favorite costume pattern site! Try to put the odd costum looks out of your mind - most pieces can be made in plain cotton or linen and look wonderful for ritual wear.

http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=5386 I love this for a men's clerical robe - I have been a fan of Neo's cassock for that purpose since I saw the Matrix - I have a marked preference for tailored ritual wear.

Then I hit the Folkwear Pattern site:

    http://www.folkwear.com/104.html  gorgeous possibilities!!

http://www.folkwear.com/150.html see, now this is not for everyone, but the person I am sewing for would like this and carry it off beautifully - tons of possibility for decoration, which is always my concern ;)

http://www.folkwear.com/116.html a really perfect shirt that can be easily lengthened (not justmy opinion, but it's on the pattern description!! So you know it's true...

    http://www.folkwear.com/102.html another good one...

So these are some of the things I've been considering....I am sending my firend a list and we'll work fromthere - I'll try to get some pictures posted of what we come up with! :)

Very cool!!! I've been thinking of looking for some ritual wear for me and my partner. Mens patterns are not the easiest to find. Thanks.
